Artist's Comments
I've read that spotted hyenas are actually quite intelligent (as opposed to what you may see in The Lion King). Their societies are large and complex; yet they can recognize their own ranks and the ranks of other members. It's actually quite like that of some monkeys. I've also read that they are more intelligent than lions (although I'm not completely sure of this). For the sake of this picture, let's say that they are.
